NAREE Held a Media Debriefing & Cocktail Party Feb 27 at IBS Las Vegas 

All members were invited to attend NAREE’s Cocktail Party and Media Debriefing on Tuesday, Feb 27 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the IBS Press Lounge, Room N-232 in the NAHB Press Complex at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

At “NAREE’s Day One Design Downloads:  journalists weighed in on Wellness Concepts seen at IBS”

Panelists included: Dan DiClerico, Director of Home Improvement & Outdoor /  Good Housekeeping Institute;  Andrea Lillo, Executive Editor, Designers Today and Jennifer Quail, Deputy Editor, aspire design and home. Moderator: Jamie Gold, Forbes.com contributor and award-winning author of  Wellness by Design (Simon & Schuster).  

This fun, informal and conveniently located aprés show networking event offered an informative look at the top wellness trends spotted at the show.

According to moderator Jamie Gold, key take-aways included:

“1. Resilience is emerging as a wellness design consideration. It fits into conversations about security, functionality and aging in place.

2. Smart home technology is definitely playing a strong role in wellness design with features like smart locks, circadian lighting and leak prevention.

3. Mental health has joined physical health in the wellness design conversation. Neurodiversity and biophilia are both trending design topics.”

JAMIE GOLD (MODERATOR)

Jamie Gold is a wellness design consultant and the author of three books on design and remodeling, including the award-winning  Wellness by Design: A Room-by-Room Guide to Optimizing Your Home for Health Fitness and Happiness, published by Simon & Schuster in 2020 and its 2023 post-pandemic Bonus Chapter: Lessons for How We Live Now. She is also a Mayo Clinic Certified Wellness Coach, regular contributor to Forbes.com on residential wellness design, Kitchen & Bath Design News and other trade and consumer publications.

DAN DICLERICO

Having written thousands of product reviews and how-to articles on all aspects of home ownership, from routine maintenance to major renovations, Dan brings more than 20 years of industry experience to his role as the director of the Home Improvement & Outdoor Lab at the  Good Housekeeping Institute. A one-time roofer and a serial remodeler, Dan can often be found keeping house at his restored Brooklyn brownstone, where he lives with his wife and kids.

ANDREA LILLO

Andrea Lillo is Executive Editor of Designers Today, a BridgeTower Media brand that serves as a resource for interior designers. She oversees all editorial aspects of its digital and print products and represents the brand through panel discussions, videos and other industry events. In addition, she develops content and hosts the Designer Experience conference. She also serves as the Lighting Editor for Home Accents Today and the Managing Editor of HFN. 

JENNIFER QUAIL

Jennifer has spent more than 20 years covering interior design, furnishings, historic design, and more for consumer and trade magazines including Luxe Interiors + Design, Western Interiors + Design, and FORM, as well as for About.com where she served as Home Furnishings Expert. She was the founding Editor-in-Chief of i+D, the magazine for the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and served on the Board of Directors for the ASID New York Metro chapter. Jennifer has studied design history and theory at Parsons, NYU, and Sotheby's Institute of Art. She currently serves as Deputy Editor for  aspire design and home magazine.
