NAREE Announces 2015 Board Members

NEW ORLEANS, La. -- The National Association of Real Estate Editors (NAREE) has installed its 2015 Board of Directors.

Shonda Novak, real estate writer for the Austin American-Statesman, is NAREE's 2015 president. Steve Brown, Dallas Morning News, was elected Vice President.

Polyana da Costa, Bankrate.com, in North Palm Beach, Fla. is Treasurer while Matthew Strozier, a digital editor at Dow Jones is NAREE's 2015 Secretary.

Prashant Gopal, Bloomberg News in Boston; Michelle Jarboe McFee, The Plain Dealer in Cleveland, Ohio and Dion Haynes, Washington Post, join NAREE Board as Directors at-large.

Associate member Elizabeth Razzi, Editor-In-Chief, Urban Land magazine based in Washington, D.C. was elected for a second term as Second Vice President.

The results of the election were announced Nov. 7, 2014, at the NAREE Annual Officer Installation and Awards Dinner at Broussard's Restaurant in the French Quarter in New Orleans.

Daniel Taub, Bloomberg News, based in Los Angeles, is now Chairman of the Board. Retaining their seats on the 2015 Board as Active Directors are Harold Bubil, Sarasota Herald-Tribune; Matt Carter, Inman News; Camilla McLaughlin, Freelance Writer; and Matt Valley, France Media. Steve Cook, Real Estate Economy Watch and Michael Walsh, The Real Reporter in Boston continue as Board Associate Directors.

NAREE, founded in 1929, is celebrating 85 years of service to journalists covering residential, commercial and financial real estate, home and urban design, and green building. NAREE helps members advance their careers as editors, staff writers, columnists, freelancers, bloggers and authors.

NAREE's 49th Annual Conference is slated for June 24-27 in Miami. The deadline to enter NAREE's 65th Annual Real Estate Journalism Competition is March 1. The 8th Annual Bruss Book Awards Competition Entry deadline is April 15.
