How to Join

1. Download the membership application, fill it out and email to nareeprograms@gmail.com.

2. Choose a payment option. (Pay here interactively online with the yellow "Pay Now" box below, or include credit card number with expiration on the membership application.

3. Choose an online payment amount by using the blue toggle arrow below:

Media: choose "Active member $75 USD" -- Industry Associates:  choose "Associate Member $195 USD"

Payment must accompany application to be processed, so indicate "paid online" on the membership application if you used the yellow "Pay Now" option.

Even if you click the yellow "Pay Now" option box, you must fill out the membership application to have your membership fully processed. 

This means you must  download, print and fill out the membership application. Then email, fax, or drop the completed application the US mail.

It can take up to 2 weeks to fully process your membership application, even if you pay online.  Thanks for your patience.

Journalists entering the contest can join or renew on naree.org/jcontest (the journalism competition landing page) to save a step.

NAREE will give preference to processing membership applications of those attending the annual conference..  All others will be processed after the conference due to limited manpower during the conference production period. Thanks again for your patience.

Types of NAREE Membership

ACTIVE MEMBER - Definition
(full-time, working journalists only)
Active members shall have as their principal occupation the reporting, writing, transmitting or editing of news about real estate and/or housing for a bona fide news media outlets' news divisions that are independent of trade associations, lobbying groups, sponsoring organizations or advertising control, and are not produced in concert with real estate companies, building companies or any company involved in the broad field of real estate, or part of any governmental agency. (Principal occupation means more than 50 percent of time.) Open to bonafide print, digital, and broadcast journalists working for bonafide media outlets. $75.00 annual dues.

ASSOCIATE MEMBER - Definition
(writers for special interest information outlets and marketplaces and/or non-news divisions of media parent companies, content providers and communications professionals.) Writers, editors, producers, bloggers, columnists and or content providers for trade association affiliated news outlets. Professional writers who do not qualify as full-time journalists for independent print or broadcast media or communications specialists who write or disseminate information for a limited audience or for real estate-relate business. $195.00 annual dues.

__I swear the above is a true and accurate description of my professional status and that it is my responsibility to notify NAREE's executive director of any change that could affect my NAREE membership. If the above information is shown to be false, NAREE can terminate my membership immediately and all prepaid membership dues are forfeit. I also swear that I have read and will abide by NAREE's Code of Ethics.

NAREE'S CODE OF ETHICS
NAREE members subscribe to the following ethics policy: "I will strive to uphold, as a member of NAREE, the highest standards of professional conduct and to avoid any conflict of interest. Should my conduct be called into question, I shall cooperate in any possible investigation conducted by the NAREE Board of Directors, and I will accept any decision it may render on my membership as final."

(Membership privileges begin after dues are received and the application is reviewed by the membership committee; please allow 2 weeks for processing.) Applicant name may be deleted from the rolls if payment is rescinded.

NAREE dues are not deductible as a charitable contribution for Federal tax purposes but may be deductible as a business expense. NAREE is a non-profit organization. IRS Registration #51-1036401
